Newport business presents day of fitness for cancer research

Fixed Gear in Newport Beach raised nearly $3,000 on Saturday during its His & Hers fundraiser to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The event, which included about 65 people, started at 8 a.m. with spin and CrossFit classes and ended at Tacos and Treats around 11 a.m.

Event organizer Marisa Nagao created the event in honor of her grandmother Hollie, who died in 2012.

Organizers asked for a $20 donation per class and sold $10 raffle tickets. For more information, visit give.bcrfcure.org/hisandhers.
