Egg-citement festival set for Saturday

Torelli Realty in Costa Mesa will present its annual Egg-citement festival from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at Tanager Park, 1780 Hummingbird Drive.

The Easter bunny will be the special guest of the party, which will include a bounce house, pony rides, a petting zoo and coloring and jelly bean contests. Refreshments will be sold by local schools.

Mariners Church Easter events

Mariners Church is holding Easter egg hunts in Irvine, Huntington Beach, Santa Ana, Mission Viejo and San Juan Capistrano on Saturday and Sunday.

Admission is free and open to all, regardless of religious belief or church affiliation. Egg hunts are for toddlers through fifth grade.

In Irvine, 50,000 candy-filled Easter eggs will be up for grabs at two scrambles. The first will be at 3:15 p.m. Saturday followed at 7:15 p.m. by a flashlight scramble — flashlights will be provided. Separate scramble areas will be set aside for children ages 1 to 4 and for age 5 to fifth-graders. The Irvine church is at 5001 Newport Coast Drive.

In Huntington Beach, the church will host its first Easter in the Park celebration, featuring a “peep roast” and Easter egg scramble Saturday following the 5 p.m. service. The celebration and hunt will be at Central Park, behind the Huntington Beach Central Library.

Mariners in Santa Ana will hold its first Easter Festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Regional Park, 3000 W. Edinger Ave.

Mariners in Mission Viejo will host a “peep roast” and scramble after its 5 p.m. service Saturday. A self-guided Good Friday Stations of the Cross experience starts at 12:30 p.m. The church is at 26862 Crown Valley Pkwy.

Mariners Church Ocean Hills in San Juan Capistrano will hold two Easter egg scrambles following Sunday Easter worship services at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Ocean Hills is at 32222 Del Obispo St., San Juan Capistrano.

Market Place to hold Easter Festival

The ninth annual Easter Festival and Food Truck Brunch at the Orange County Market Place will include Easter egg hamburgers, grilled cheese scrambled egg sandwiches and golden tickets from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

A free treasure hunt will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendors will offer candy and prizes, while designated Market Place food concessions will be sites for retrieving plastic eggs filled with goodies — 10 will be stuffed with a golden ticket, meaning a free giant Easter basket for the recipient.

The first 500 kids in line for the treasure hunt will receive a free Easter bunny plush toy and a variety of local attraction tickets.

Children can bring their own Easter baskets. Free hunt bags will also be on hand if needed, along with a map to help guide the golden ticket seekers through the Market Place.

The Food Truck Easter Brunch will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and feature eight trucks. Crepes Bonaparte, the Grilled Cheese Truck, Baby’s Badass Burgers, Falasophy, Dogzilla, the Burnt Truck, Stick-A-Berry and Frijolito’s Mobile Coffee will have special Easter bills of fare, including specialty egg offerings, along with their regular menu items.

The Easter bunny will visit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to hand out treats and provide photo opportunities.

Free activities will include face painting and the Springtime Puppet Parade Show, presented by Franklin Haynes Marionettes at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the main stage.

The Easter Festival is held in conjunction with the regular swap meet, which operates from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
