A Costa Mesa landlord, Mike Allen, entered his vacated property to find remnants of the tenants’ belongings and a mama cat snuggled with her newborn kittens under a bed.

The Allen family has been fostering the cat family and chauffeurs them on weekends to the Fashion Island adoption events sponsored by Russo’s Pet Experience.

Prospective pet-parents may apply now to adopt the tortoiseshell mom cat named Chloe and her 8-week-old kittens: Shonda, who is black; Mocha, a tortoiseshell; Rusty, who is orange; Calvin, who is tabby and white; and Hobbes, who is orange and white .

To encourage the public to consider adopting the 9-month-old mother cat, Community Animal Network has a mom and baby special price.
