Mariners Church hosts free summer concert series

Mariners Church celebrates summer with a free concert series kicking off Saturday and running through Aug. 16. The series will feature musical groups performing on six consecutive Saturday nights.

Musicians taking the stage are Mike Edel, a native of Alberta, Canada, who has performed at the Rifflandia Festival; Lowly Spects, a folk-alternative group based in Costa Mesa; Moxi, an indie-pop duo from Los Angeles; Tavia, an acoustic/folk artist; Sam Outlaw, a country music singer; and PawnShop Kings, a two-brother team raised in Southern California.

All concerts begin at 6:15 p.m. and are free. The church is located at 5001 Newport Coast Drive in Irvine.

Attendees can purchase dinner from the food trucks visiting each week. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. The celebration starts after the 5 p.m. Saturday service.
