True animal lovers are always shocked to discover that they have friends and coworkers who can distance themselves from their pets and send them to a county shelter where there is some uncertainty that they will find a new home.

Community Animal Network recognizes the difference in commitment between those who choose to apply to adopt an animal and pay and those who acquire animals from others for free.

Penny Lane’s rescuer took her from a coworker after discovering the dog was in the colleague’s car and the county shelter was on the way to pick her up. The coworker excused her behavior by saying it wasn’t really her dog and that she got it from someone else.

A health exam discovered a heart murmur and the two-year-old Penny Lane will need further testing to determine the severity. Apparently, the previous owner had no idea of a medical condition.

The tiny toy Chihuahua is very sweet. She gives kisses and prefers to sit on your lap.
