Santa And Pet Photos

Newport Beach Plaza Retirement Community is holding its Santa Clause and Pet Photo Shoot from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Newport Beach Plaza, 1455 Superior Ave., Newport Beach. Photos are a $20 donation and vendors will be selling jewelry, doggy bandanas, clothes and other cat and dog items. Proceeds will go to the Newport Beach Animal Shelter.

Art Exhibit

The Irvine Animal Care Center is sponsoring Home for the Holidays, a pet adoption fair from 10 a.m.to 3 p.m. More than 500 homeless animals will be available for adoption from private rescue organizations and shelters across Southern California. This annual event features pet and human related vendors, food, a silent auction, raffle, bake sale and Ask the Vet and Ask the Trainer booths. Admission is $1 and parking is free. Jazz Ensemble Fall Concert

Orange Coast College Jazz Ensemble fall concert begins at

7:30 p.m. in the Robert B. Moore Theatre, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa. The concert pays tribute to “Doc” Rutherford, the legendary jazz musician and OCC instructor who passed away in September at age 85. Guest artist Pete Christlieb, a sax player on “The Tonight Show” during Johnny Carson’s reign, will perform a tribute arrangement and solos.
