One Big Tree

South Coast Plaza’s 2011 Christmas Tree will be arriving by truck from Mt. Shasta and will be hoisted up between 7 and 10 a.m. at Town Center Park, 686 Anton Blvd., Costa Mesa.

All About Owls

The Little Naturalist program at the Environmental Nature Center will give an outdoor class about owls for children ages 3 to 5. Children will have an opportunity to touch owl wings and talons. Get Into the Swing

Homage to The Dude

“Joe Forkan — The Lebowski Cycle,” a painting exhibit, is at Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion, Orange Coast College, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa. ‘It’s Your Money’ Workshops

Peter Kote will be leading the eight weeks of the free “It’s Your Money” workshops from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays at the Newport Beach Public Library, 1000 Avocado Ave. The workshops promise to “provide attendees with education and practical solutions to financial and estate planning issues, so they can be in charge of their estates during their lifetimes and beyond,” according to a release. ‘Dig Pink’

The Irvine Valley College women’s volleyball team will play Golden West College in “Dig Pink,” an Orange Empire Conference match for a good cause. Proceeds from the 6 p.m. match at Irvine Valley College, 5500 Irvine Center Drive, will go toward breast cancer research. A $5-donation will get you a pink T-shirt and a pink spray cleaner.
