Pet of the Week

Share

We need help! Play with kittens and help clean up! The recession is hurting pet-adoption everywhere and Community Animal Network is housing our animals longer and using more money to feed and time to care for them.

Come play with these kittens that were rescued from an automotive shop. We call them the car kittens: Lexus (black), Audi and Royce (silver tabbies), Mercedes and Aston (black and white) and Beamer (golden tabby).

Some young adults have already started helping in the play room. But the network needs more days covered at a home in Newport Beach. It could be a fun family activity for children older than 7, and fostering would be a great gift to Community Animal Network.

For adults or school-age children wanting to help at the Fashion Island pet adoption events sponsored by Russo’s Pet Experience, there is a volunteer orientation from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Call (949) 759-3646 or e-mail contact@animalnetwork.org to get involved in helping local animals.

Sadly, the severity of the over-pet population is at epidemic proportions as more and more kittens are being born with nowhere to go. Consider adopting so we can rescue and save others’ lives.

The network’s bank account is embarrassingly low and a significant donor’s contribution that normally arrives in June is missing. The network needs to raise $10,000 over the next few months to budget the rescues needs and continue the mission to help local animals.

Consider donating by mailing your checks to Community Animal Network, P.O. Box 8662 Newport Beach, CA, 92658 and memo your check “Feed the Animals” with nonprofit tax ID 33-0971560.
