9/11 10th Anniversary Events

9 a.m. to 11 a.m.: City of Costa Mesa 9/11 commemoration, U.S. Army Reserve Base, Air National Guard, 2651 Newport Blvd., Costa Mesa.

10 a.m.: Service of remembrance and hope, with guest speaker Imam Sayed Moustafa Al-Qazwini of the Islamic Educational Center of Orange County. The event is at Fairview Community Church, 2525 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Lyon Air Museum commemorating 9/11 by offering free admission on Sunday to all first responders, such as police officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, 911 operators and dispatchers. The museum is at 19300 Ike Jones Road.

Bless Them

A “Blessing of the Backpacks” will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Corona del Mar Community Church, 611 Heliotrope Ave. School children of various ages are encouraged to bring along their backpacks.

Opening of OCC Theatre

Season

‘It’s Your Money’ Workshops

Peter Kote will be leading the eight weeks of the free “It’s Your Money” workshops from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Mondays at the Newport Beach Public Library, 1000 Avocado Ave. The workshops promise to “provide attendees with education and practical solutions to financial and estate planning issues, so they can be in charge of their estates during their lifetimes and beyond,” according to a release. Succeeding in Tough Times

Muldoon’s Irish Pub owner Ron Schwartz will give a lunchtime talk at noon at the venue on “How to Succeed in Challenging Times.” His talk will be the first of four in a series, “WTBY Presents,” presented by the Women of Reform Judaism of Temple Bat Yahm. Job Fair

A job fair and conference, organized by the Orange County Chapter of the Project Management Institute, is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Wyndham Orange County Hotel, 3350 Avenue of the Arts, Costa Mesa. The event is geared for executives, analysts, project managers and people interested in project management. Those with a project management credential can earn four units through attending the conference and job fair. Cost to register in advance ranges from $15 to $50.
