The Philharmonic Society of Orange County announced this week that it ended the 2011-12 fiscal year with a nearly $16,000 unaudited surplus.

The Irvine-based nonprofit reported having a total revenue of about $4.18 million.

The news was released during the organization’s annual meeting at the Soka Performing Arts Center, which it will use as a performance venue for the first time in the 2012-13 season. The 1,000-seat hall in Aliso Viejo opened in September.

The financial report also came at the end of a season that featured a busy visiting lineup of internationally acclaimed orchestras from throughout the United States, Russia and England.
