Commemorating the Doolittle Raid

The Lyon Air Museum presents a program to commemorate the 70th anniversary Doolittle Raid bombings of Tokyo and other targets in Japan during World War II. A B-25 bomber, the type of warplane used in the U.S. mission, will land at the museum at noon. The program begins at 10:30 a.m., when Jonna Doolittle Hoppes, Jimmy Doolittle’s granddaughter, will sign copies of a book. The Lyon Air Museum is at 19300 Ike Jones Road, Santa Ana. ‘An Afternoon of Giving’

Carnival and Family Fun Night

The Parent Teacher Assns. at Mariners and Andersen elementary schools host the Piper Evans/OMS Awareness Carnival and Family Fun Night, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Mariners campus, 2100 Mariners Drive, Newport Beach. The benefit event will raise funds for the medical care of Piper Evans, a toddler diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder, Opsoclonus Myoclonus Syndrome, or OMS, for which there is no cure. ‘1 in 91’ Benefit Art Auction

A.skate Foundation’s third annual “1 in 91” Art Show, an art auction to raise funds for kids with autism, is from 6 to 9 p.m. at The ARTery Gallery at the LAB, 2930 S. Bristol St., Costa Mesa.
