'Tinseltown Christmas' coming to UCI

There's more holiday cheer with UC Irvine's latest musical, "Tinseltown Christmas," which will be at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts starting Dec 1.

The musical takes place on Christmas Eve, with two characters, Steve and Monica, who are neighbors in a Hollywood apartment building and have never gotten along.

The pair are soon paid visits by the ghosts of Jimmy Stewart, Judy Garland, Bing Crosby and Natalie Wood, who come alive from their Christmas movies through Monica's TV, according to a news release.

Performances are 8 p.m. Dec 1, 6, 7 and 8; and 2 p.m. Dec. 2 and 8. Tickets are $15 for general, $14 for senior, $11 for UCI students.

The campus is at 4000 Mesa Road. Buy tickets at http://www.arts.uci.edu/tickets or call (949) 824-2787.
