There were 17 state championship game records broken and three more tied in the Class 5A state football game at Memorial Stadium in Champaign. The teams combined for 1,644 yards of offense. JC's Ty Isaac set the mark for rushing yards (515) and TDs (6) in a title game. Montini QB John Rhode set records for passing yards (587) and TDs (7), while Jordan Westerkamp set marks for receiving yards (353) and receiving TDs (5). Joliet Catholic ran for a record 747 net yards.
